Program Description

Up to $10 million dollars has been authorized for grants to use new technologies and develop specialized skills necessary for higher value crops and agricultural development.

How the Program is Funded

The program can be appropriated up to $10 million for each of fiscal years 2002 through 2007.

Criteria for Eligibility

Nonprofit organizations, a consortium of nonprofit organizations, agribusinesses, State and local governments, agricultural labor organization, farmer or rancher cooperatives, and community based organizations with the capacity to train farm workers are eligible to use this program.
